Jade Mountain is the only resort on the island of St Lucia to have an iconic view of both of the Piton Mountains rising high above the Caribbean. The location is like none other, nestled high above the private Anse Chastanet estate as part of 600 acres of lush tropical landscape and two pristine Caribbean beaches where coral reefs are abundant – perfect for snorkelers and divers.
The hotel was built to be in total harmony with its environment. There are no rooms, just your own personal sanctuary, each individually designed with your own infinity pool – they truly have to be seen to be believed. Offering some of the greatest views in all the Caribbean, with vaulted ceilings and a completely open wall to the outside. Technology is minimal here to allow you to experience the atmosphere of the place and completely unwind.
Architect Nick Troubetzkoy has made a bold statement with the design of Jade Mountain, making it one of the most striking and awe-inspiring hotels on the island. Guests have complete and unlimited access to the facilities at the sister resort, Anse Chastanet, including its restaurants, bars, beaches, spa and sporting options for your convenience.
All of the sanctuaries are individual and unique, with luxurious and bespoke furnishings and features, featuring a multitude of hardwoods, stones and coral tiling that showcases the very best materials from nearby islands and beyond. The facilities include a fridge, tea/coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. All guests also receive a personal phone from which to contact the service team at any point during your stay. Technology is limited in keeping with the overall theme but internet access, telephones and business services are available at reception, and WiFi is available in the sanctuaries upon request.
Sky Suites – The 5 sky suites are found on the lower hillsides of the resort and are spacious offerings with a split level layout, large living area, open bathroom and raised Jacuzzi tub. They lack the infinity pool of sanctuaries but all but one have the same open 4th wall, with the last suite enclosed with air conditioning. They sleep 2 people in a king size bed.
Star Infinity Pool Sanctuaries – The smaller range of sanctuaries are between 1400 and 1800 square feet with infinity pools averaging 450 square feet. They sleep up to 2 people in a king size bed.
Moon Infinity Pool Sanctuaries – The next range of sanctuaries are sized between 1600 and 1950 square feet with infinity pools averaging 600 square feet. They sleep up to 2 people in a king size bed.
Sun Infinity Pool Sanctuaries – These sanctuaries offer extensive panoramic views and are over 2000 square feet in size in positions high up in the hotel. The infinity pools are up to 900 square feet. These features combine to make them the most desirable rooms. They sleep up to 2 people in a king size bed.
Galaxy Infinity Pool Sanctuaries – Three of the sun sanctuaries lie on the top level of the hotel and boast the best views and the largest sizes. Because of this they are often reserved specially, and have been given a category of their own.
Meal Plans: Various meals are available at Jade Mountain including all inclusive.
The Jade Mountain Club – Centred on an infinity pool showcasing a wealth of colours, the Jade Mountain Club caters exclusively to residents and serves up cuisine created by the celebrated and award-winning chef Allen Susser. Tropical flavours nourish both body and soul. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers live entertainment on select evenings.
Dining in your Sanctuary – In an effort to not disturb your discovery of yourself and your surroundings, why not opt for any, or indeed all of the meals in your own personal sanctuary. Catering to your every want and need, the service is designed to reflect our warmth, professionalism and hospitality.
The Celestial Terrace – Hovering elegantly above the Jade Mountain Club, the terrace is ideal for cocktails while the sun sets and star gazing when the light fades. An undeniably incredible location, the staff can even arrange a private dining experience to be enjoyed on the terrace if you wish.
Dining at the sister resort Anse Chastanet – Guests at Jade Mountain can also dine in the restaurants of Anse Chastanet, located below the hotel, a short walk or shuttle bus ride away. A number of locations and menus are available, or you can opt for a private table on the beach. There are exciting Caribbean flavours, Creole favourites, grilled options and seafood to be enjoyed, with vast quantities of the ingredients grown in the nearby hills and plantations.
Things to Do
The estate is home to two white sandy beaches with an abundance of coral close by making the surrounding waters perfect for swimming, snorkelling and diving, as well as complimentary windsurfing, kayaks and sunfish sailing. There is also a water taxi to the second beach at Anse Mamin 6 days a week.
There is guided walking and hikes, jogging and yoga, as well as history classes and slideshows on the history and surroundings of the island. Daily live entertainment is very popular and every Tuesday there is a manager’s cocktail party. A fitness studio also forms part of the resort which is well-equipped.
A number of tours and excursions are also on offer both in the local area and beyond to visit other parts of the island – simply contact the concierge for more information or to book.
Spa facilities are abundant at Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet, with the Kai en Ciel and Kai Belte facilities, as well as the private Kai Mer cottage. You may choose to have one of the extensive list of treatments and massages performed in the comfort of your sanctuary or in one of the several dedicated spa areas around the resort.
Jade Mountain has been designed as a couples resort and as such is not really suitable for children. Only children over the age of 15 are allowed to stay at the resort. Some sanctuaries can accept an additional bed and/or the main king size bed can be split into two, but the resort is aimed primarily at couples rather than families.
