Anse Chastanet, St Lucia

Product Description

Hailing back to days gone by, Anse Chastanet is the realisation of architect owner Nick Troubetzkoy who has embodied the natural environment in his designs and philosophies.  With the pitons soaring out over the ocean in full view and 600 lush green acres to enjoy, there is always something to do here, or if you prefer you can simply do nothing at all.

Within your reach are two soft white sandy beaches, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a designated marine reserve filled with an abundance of reefs and tropical fish.  With such an assortment of natural wonders at your beck and call, you can be sure of a wonderfully eco-friendly experience on the island’s quiet south-western coast.

The rooms are scattered in beautiful locations, from the beach to the rolling hillsides above, and some even have their 4th wall missing to allow you to appreciate the stunning vistas, while remaining perfectly private.  Anse Chastanet is a resort like none other, and has to be seen to be believed.

The resort offers 49 individually-designed rooms, or which 12 are situated as part of tropical gardens along the beach, with the remainder scattered around the verdant green hillside.  The emphasis it very much on local materials, with anything from the furnishings to the bathrobes locally sourced and produced.  Rooms all feature fridges, tea/coffee makers, hair dryers and safes.  The Deluxe and Premium rooms also have ironing facilities for your use.

Note that there are some 100 steps between beach level and mid-hillside, making the resort unsuitable for those with mobility issues or heart problems; however a shuttle service is available if requested.

All rooms can accommodate up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.  The deluxe beachside rooms can accommodate 2 adults and up to 3 children.

  • Standard– spacious and airy with unique artwork, these rooms have garden or ocean views and some have partial Piton views
  • Superior– these larger octagonal rooms have views of the Pitons and/or the Caribbean Sea
  • Deluxe Beachside – based down at the beach for guests who prefer to be close to the sands, these are the only rooms on the property with air conditioning
  • Hillside Deluxe– highly spacious and wonderfully decorated these hillside rooms offer breathtaking views of  the surrounding hills
  • Premium Hillside – offering absolutely incredible views of the Pitons these are some of St Lucia’s most sought after rooms
  • Anse Chastanet has two new one-of-a-kind suites.  The Piton Pool Suite and the Beach House

Anse Chastanet plays host to some of the best dining on the island, with cuisine to suite every taste in some spectacular locations by the beach and along the lush hillside.  There is also the option of a private dining experience somewhere private and intimate.  The choices are many and the flavours are punchy wherever you choose to eat, and you can rest assured that the chefs here use locally grown and organic products, most of which from the grounds of the estate!

Treehouse Restaurant – Perched on high and overlooking the gardens and the sparkling Caribbean Sea, this fine dining restaurant serves award-winning tropical cuisine with a truly artistic flair.  The menu changes often and the setting is decidedly romantic with candles and local artwork on display.  Open for breakfast daily and dinner every night except Tuesdays.

Emerald’s – The menus at Anse Chastanet proudly boast use of vegetarian options, and the Emerald’s dinner menu is designed to showcase the excellent local and organise produce grown on the nearby hills.  The dishes are an exquisite and exciting range of delights including goat’s cheese fondant, apple curry and plantain satay.  Dinner is served every night except Tuesdays.

Trou Au Diable – Right on the beach, this wonderful restaurant is great for a lunchtime feast of salads, sandwiches, burgers and traditional island specialities.  Every Tuesday evening a culinary spectacle greets  guests starting with cocktails at 6:30pm, with a great atmosphere enhanced by light provided by a row of flambeau candles on the beach.  There is also a relaxed and casual menu served in the beach bar at Trou Au Diable with a selection of grilled favourites every night except Tuesday.

Apsara – A flavourful Indian themed menu is on offer at the Trou Au Diablo every night except Tuesdays, and Apsara is born.  A great fusion of East Indian and Caribbean flavours celebrating the cultural ties with this part of the world.

Jungle Grill – Located on the resort’s second beach at Anse Mamin, it has a lovely laid back feel to it and is popular with many guests.  Open from 10:00am – 4:00pm daily except Saturdays, it serves grilled fare for lunch from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.

Private Dining – For something really special, why not arrange a private dinner in a secluded spot on the resort for just you and that someone special, you can even venture out onto the second beach at Anse Mamin for that ‘castaway’ feel!

Bars at Anse Chastanet – The bars at the Treehouse Restaurant and the Trou Au Diable are open daily and offer a great variety of delicious cocktails, beers, wines and spirits including single malt whiskeys and various other aperitifs and after-dinner drinks.

Afternoon Tea is served in the Beach Bar from 3:30pm – 5:30pm

The dress code in the evenings is smart casual, with gentlemen usually wearing collared shirts and Bermuda-style shorts or trousers.  At lunchtime, there is a request for dry clothing and cover-ups to be worn.

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Anse Mamin Beach

The secluded Anse Mamin beach is accessible by the resort water taxi or the resort shuttle. Guests favor arrival by boat. Once guests, registrar and groom have arrived and are ready to proceed, the bride will arrive by water taxi making a grand entrance to begin the ceremony. Suitable location for couples with or without small or large groups.

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Anse Mamin Plantation

Surrounded by lush tropical foliage, the 18th century remains of ANSE MAMIN provide a unique and romantic backdrop for any wedding ceremony. Very popular is the wedding set up next to our Stairway to Heaven. Wedding couple and participating friends would all arrive by boat.

The Treehouse

The Treehouse at Anse Chastanet Resort is located at mid-hillside level. As the name suggests, it is an open style structure, clinging on the steep cliffs, surrounded by treetops and overlooking the north end of Anse Chastanet beach and the Caribbean Sea. Airy and cool, a good private location for bride and groom travelling alone or with a wedding party up to 20 guests.

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Casuarina Piton Pool Suite

Casuarina is nestled amidst lush foliage in a private hillside setting at Anse Chastanet Resort, facing towards St.Lucia’s famous Pitons mountains and the Caribbean Sea. By virtue of their design, couples staying in our room categories sometimes choose their room as their wedding location, especially if they wish to have a very private, quiet ceremony.

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Kai Mer Cottage

Perched high above the coral reefs on the south end of Anse Chastanet beach, Kai Mer is an intimate, very private choice for a panoramic ocean view location. There are a number of stairs to climb to this locoation.

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Weddings Off and Under

For the truly adventurous certified divers, the Resort can arrange a wedding ceremony under water. It must be noted that the FORMAL part of the ceremony will take place above water, on the water’s edge, prior to the couple diving off to repeat their vows under water, using both slates and underwater sign language. The sequence can also be done in the reverse if you prefer to say the formal above water vows dripping wet…

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Weddings Off Shore

Anse Chastanet has a number of boats which can be rented and used for the wedding ceremony, with the Resort and Piton mountains becoming the scenic backdrop. Most of our boats are suitable for smaller wedding groups, however, our 65 foot power catamaran, Lucky T, is a perfect venue for larger groups.

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Emerald Estate

The resort owned farm Emerald in the Soufriere Hills is a popular choice for the “organic” bride and groom. Combine your wedding celebration with our Farm to Table Chef Special Lunch and you’ll end up harvesting your lunch ingredients personally after the wedding.

Anse Chastanet Wedding

Botanical Gardens at the Diamond Mineral Baths

The island’s nicest botanical garden is part of the historical Diamond Mineral Baths which long ago were already enjoyed by the troops of the French King Louis VXI. In the heart of the formal gardens, a wedding gazebo has been erected which is available for wedding ceremonies in the late afternoon.

Honeymooners staying 7 nights or more will receive a complimentary private dinner set up with wine at the water’s edge on Anse Chastanet beach once during stay on a pre agreed day and time.
